JUNE 2005 PRESS RELEASES

SAFE KIDS Partners with LITHIA for Safe Summer Fun Celebration

Date:  June 22, 2005

SAFE KIDS of the Magic Valley announces one of the biggest summer safety events in the Magic Valley – the “Safe Summer Fun Celebration” – to be held on Saturday, June 25, 2005 from 10 am – 2 pm. at the corner of Blue Lakes and Poleline Road, Twin Falls. Chevrolet Cadillac of Twin Falls, a LITHIA store, and Foresters Investors host the event.

On the agenda: a free Buckle Up event to check that your car seats and booster seats are safe for summer traveling. Experts will be on hand to explain two new laws – the Seatbelt Law and ATV Helmet Law – which go into effect July 1, 2005. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend.

Other activities include a Bike Rodeo, hosted by Magic Valley Bike Paramedics (a limited number of bike helmets will be given away); Smokey the Bear, BLM firefighters and fire trucks; and the “Drag-a-Cop” display that features a dragster show car and wrecked vehicle. Twin Falls Search and Rescue will showcase their Rescue Dogs, Marine Patrol, ATV Safety and Water Safety. The American Red Cross will provide “Home Alone” safety tips, Water and Canal safety; and representatives from the Eastern Idaho Railroad and Homeland Security will also be available for information and safety presentations.
