Magic Valley Regional Medical Center Announces Community Health Improvement Fund
Date: August 31, 2005
At the core of the mission of Magic Valley Regional Medical Center is a commitment to improving the health of the people it serves. As part of the hospital’s effort to achieve that goal, MVRMC has established a Community Health Improvement Fund. This fund is designed to provide financial support for organizations that are also working to improve the health of people in the region.
Through September 14, 2005 MVRMC will be accepting applications for projects addressing access to healthcare services, prevention, wellness, health information systems and other health-related services or activities. Enclosed is the application form and information regarding the criteria and selection process. Funding commences October 11, 2005.
Community Health Improvement funds may be awarded for proposals from eligible organizations that address one or more of the following community health priorities:
-
Access to Care
-
Injury and Violence
-
Overweight and Obesity
-
Mental Health
-
Physical Activity
The MVRMC Board of Directors established these priorities utilizing community health assessments. Applicants must address one or more of these priorities and are expected to demonstrate collaboration and coordination with other community organizations, including MVRMC. They must also include a mechanism with which to measure health improvements. Preference will be given to projects that support multiple communities in the South Central Idaho and Northern Nevada.
