Magic Valley Palliative Care Coalition Hosts Community Health Education Sessions

The community and interested health professionals are invited to attend two special community health education sessions. Both sessions are free of charge.

“Strategies for Assisting Physicians with End-of-Life Care”
by Kevin Clifford, MD Faculty, Family Practice Residency Program, Integrative Palliative (Comfort) Care, Boise. This session is designed for allied healthcare professionals, and will be an open discussion forum. Emphasis will be on recognizing the disease processes that would benefit from comfort care, challenging myths, and communication skills for working with physicians, patients and families. Funding for this program is provided through a grant from the MVRMC Foundation’s Cancer Fund. Pre-registration is required. Call 737-2007.

“Facing a Serious Illness – Understanding Treatment Options and How to Ask for Help with Decision-making,” by David McClusky, MD Surgeon, Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, Twin Falls. This program is appropriate for the general community as well as interested health care professionals; and is provided free of charge by the Magic Valley Palliative Care Coalition. Registration is NOT required.
